The Geotechnical Division of the HKIE was formed in 1987 but our history can be traced back to 1980 when the Geotechnical Group (the former body of the Geotechnical Division) was formed within the HKIE. We are a learned society to promote the status of geotechnical engineers in society. We organise technical talks, site vists, annual seminars and international conferences to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience. We place emphasis on developing and nurturing our young members to become geotechnical professional experts.
